Humanity of the Moment

The artist was inspired by the below quote from the American photographer, Robert Frank.
In this work harsh lines are juxtaposed with the soft curves of the woman. Implied lines raise questions and give us a sense of uncertainty.
It is the underlying humanity of an image the artist sees as more important than geometry or artistic devices. Although here they seem to complement each other. There is also an over-arching use of three elements in the work. This depth leads us to something else. Perhaps humanity and our world are not distinct, perhaps they are one? Perhaps this is where reality and vision meet?
“There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment. This kind of photography is realism. But realism is not enough – there has to be vision, and the two together can make a good photograph.”- Robert Frank.
